Quality Engineer

Extensible IT Solutions (EITS), a software development company of intuitive, easy to use and compliant insurance software solutions, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer. This employment opportunity is full-time and is located in Jaipur, India.

Primary responsibilities include:

Develop a thorough knowledge of the systems, tools and products being tested.
Follow established quality control processes, testing methods and standards. Become familiar withthe Software Development Life Cycle.
Develop and execute test plans and procedures based on established standards.
Perform a thorough shakeout test after builds/installs are complete. Complete full regression testing and analyze test results. Provide documentation of regression results.
Monitor defect tracking system daily for work assignments. Enter problem defects into tracking system when applicable. Ensure steps to recreate the problem are clear and understood by development team.
Work with Project Manager to provide release notes for each client release, which includes details about completed work orders, CMR's and DR's.
Own all assigned work, provide accurate estimates on work to be done, work completed and status of work. Actively participate in team meetings and troubleshooting project issues.
Understand debugging tools and techniques to identify and resolve errors.
Respond to inquiries from clients and provide resolutions in a timely manner.
Attend company sponsored training classes to expand and strengthen knowledge base.

Professional Qualifications - Skills and abilities required:

Working knowledge of computers, Windows applications and operating systems.
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office suite including Excel and Word required.
Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Intermediate knowledge and skills with relational database concepts.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision or as a part of a team.
Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Understand the importance of following procedures currently in place.
Self-motivated and driven to seek out knowledge and stay abreast of new technology trends.
Ability to process and apply feedback.
Ability to "do what it takes to get the job done." Strong written and oral communication skills. This is necessary for interfacing with both teammates and clients.

Education and Experience Required:

Graduation or equivalent
1-3 years experience in software testing using Microsoft tools and technologies.
1-3 years experience with duties and responsibilities directly related to those specified above. Associated business knowledge may substitute for some testing experience.
Helpdesk support experience is desirable.
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry desired.

Software Engineer

Extensible IT Solutions (EITS), a software development company of intuitive, easy to use and compliant insurance software solutions, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer. This employment opportunity is full-time and is located in Jaipur, India.

Primary responsibilities include:

Establish and maintain quality software modules, document and maintain all code assigned and follow software development standards and processes, as appropriate.
Develop expertise in one or more functional areas: user interface, output or calculation engine. Development understanding and maintain proficiency in technical areas and standards related to assigned projects, including Base code and database structure.
Design, write, comment and unit test own code to ensure modules compile, are bug-free and are of the highest quality.
Maintain accountability for all assigned work, provide accurate estimates on work to completed, communicate status of ongoing work, and provide descriptions of work completed.
Actively participate in team meetings and troubleshooting project issues.
Understand debugging tools and techniques to identify and resolve errors.
Play an integral role during the build and release processes, including coordination of code integration, check in, build, and installation processes.
Update defect/change tracking system for own modules
Attend company sponsored training classes to expand and strengthen knowledge base.

Understanding of n-tiered development
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office suite, skilled knowledge of Microsoft Excel for calculation engine reverse engineering.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision or as a part of a team.

Understand the importance of following procedures currently in place.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in a computer field (Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering or Business) or a minimum of 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
1-3 years experience in software development using Microsoft tools and technologies.
Skilled with .NET, C#, C++, Excel, COM, VB 6.0, ASP, ActiveX.
Experience with Visual Studio .NET 2005 and/or Visual Studio 6.0.
Current Microsoft certifications a plus: MCP, MCSD and/or MCSD.NET.
Financial or actuarial calculations experience desired.
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry desired.
